Catilla y Leon is a large region located to the north of Madrid and is one of only two Regions which have borders with the Capital.  The Region consists of nine individual provinces, Leon, Palencia, Burgos, Zamora, Valladoid, Soria, Salamancha, Avila and Segovia.
